HOA HOMEOWNER and
BOARD MEMBER EDUCATION
The Colorado state legislature has enacted several laws designed to protect the rights of members of an HOA by promoting better governance and fair policy. The Colorado Common Interest Community Ownership Act (CCIOA) governs all HOAs formed after July 1,1992. It also applies to pre-CCIOA communities in limited ways. The Colorado Revised Non-Profit Corporation Act (CRNA) also regulates HOAs. Links to each of these acts are on the HOME page. As of 2022, the state legislature has amended CCIOA to require all HOAs to incorporate 9 separate Responsible Governance Policies into their governing documents. Country Club Heights Homeowners Association has recently completed the process of updating our governance policies to comply with the law. Included is an obligation to provide education to interested members on the subject of HOA management and member rights. The content and presentation of the material is up to the discretion of the board. For now, we are providing links to educational videos and presentations offered by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs - Department of Real Estate - HOA Center. Click on the links below.
