NEW: Adoption of required Responsible Governance Policies
We have recently incorporated "Responsible Governance Policies" into our governing documents as required by the CCIOA act. Click on the links below to learn about changes to the law that affect us.
Authorization for Communication by email:
Submit your Authorization Form for Notices by Email to receive timely notice of meetings and other important information. Not all notices need be mailed. But if your authorization form is on file, you will receive notices for special board meetings at least 48 hours before the meeting. If you are concerned that you might miss important information delivered by email, you can also appoint a Designated Contact Person to receive the same information. Notice of the Annual Meeting and Special Elections will still be sent by first class mail.
Authorization of a Voting Proxy:
As we enter a new year we will have our Annual Membership meeting. As usual, voting will be conducted to elect new officers, approve the budget, and decide current issues. If you will not, or may not, attend this meeting, or any other meetings throughout the year, you should designate a trusted person to be your proxy to vote on your behalf. A proxy assignment is valid for 11 months or until you cancel it. You may still vote in person at any time. It is essential that as many members as possible are represented at every meeting, whether in person or by proxy. First, we always need a quorum to validate the meeting, and we often need a majority of membership votes to decide issues (as opposed to a majority of members present at a meeting). Secondly, your presence matters. We are a community, not just a neighborhood. If you designate a proxy, talk with him or her to explain your position and your reasoning. The board will try to post relative information online so you can review it before deciding how you will vote. Please don't just ask your neighbor to vote just like they do.
